Even though same-sex marriages are legal internationally, stigma and anti-LGBTQI+ prejudice still exist, however LGBTQI+ parents can be cohabiting, separated, divorced, or married, just like heterosexual parents, proving the fact that they are just as common as heterosexual parents, moreover LGBTQI+ parents are equally likely as heterosexual parents to have a good relationship with their kids.
A common misconception is that children need parents of opposite genders, however there is no proof that LGBTQI+ individuals perform worse than normal parenting skills, there is even a chance that children of LGBTQI+ parents perform better on various well-being metrics.
"How do same-sex couples have children?" is a common societal question.
LGBTQI+ couples have several options when it comes to
becoming parents. There are multiple fertility treatments available, including
IUI, IVF, surrogacy, and adoption.
